Paribus Review for 2023

Online shopping is one thing that most of us do all the time. Whether you buy your everyday essentials or only the specialty items, online shopping is likely a part of your life.

Personally, I love shopping online. Instead of heading to the mall and physically tracking down all the deals, I can just shop from the comfort of my couch. With Paribus, I know that I am getting the best deal.

Paribus is a great way to ensure that you are getting a great deal when shopping.

What is Paribus?

Paribus helps you save your money on anything that you buy. The platform monitors your online purchases and ensures that you are getting refunds from stores when there’s been a price adjustment.

If there is a price drop or late shipping, then Paribus will let you know. Once you are aware that you should receive a refund, Paribus will help you get money back from the retailer.

How does Paribus work?

Paribus monitors your email receipts for any items you purchase. The program will detect purchases as they occur and automatically monitor them for the next 30 days.

If the program discovers price drops or shipping delays, then it will submit a claim to the company. The retailer will then refund the money directly to you. It will usually take between 3 and 7 business days to receive your refund depending on the policy of the retailer.

You will be notified twice throughout the process, when the claim is filed and when it is successful. Otherwise, you are completely unaware of the small details that are a part of the claim filing process. You are able to just reap the rewards of a refund without any effort required.

The Paribus app allows you to shop online as you normally would without having to worry that you are missing out on a better sale. If the item does go on sale in the next 30 days, Paribus will ensure that you are able to capitalize on those price drops.

What if an item goes on sale after 30 days?

Since many credit cards offer price guarantees, you may still be able to get a refund from your credit card company. Paribus will notify you of the price drop, but they don’t work with credit card companies, so you will have to reach out to them yourself.

What is the cost of Paribus?

A service that saves you money effortlessly should cost money. However, Paribus does not have fees of any kind associated with its service. It’s 100% free to join!

What stores does Paribus monitor?

Paribus monitors over 25 major retailers that offer price protection. You may recognize some of your favorite online retailers below.

  • Amazon

Recently, Paribus started to monitor hotel purchases as well. The company is monitoring over 100,000 hotels from the following sites:

  • Expedia
  • Booking.com
  • Hotels.com
  • Priceline
  • Hilton
  • Marriott

The service is exactly the same for hotels. If the price drops on a hotel room within 30 days of the booking, then Paribus will help you receive the refunded difference.

Special Notice for Amazon

Paribus doesn’t monitor price drops on Amazon. It will only monitor Amazon purchases for late deliveries, but you will need to link your Amazon account directly to Paribus. This will give Paribus access to more personal information, including your credit card saved on Amazon. Keep this in mind before you decide to link your account.

Where to sign up for Paribus?

You just have to sign up with an email address on the Paribus website. Once they have access to your email account, they will start monitoring it for potential savings. It is really that simple.

Paribus only supports Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft email accounts. It may be worth creating one if you do not already have one of these supported emails. With this option, you can create an auto-forwarding filter that will allow you forward just receipts to the Paribus friendly account.

What’s the catch?

The only catch with Paribus is that you will need to give them access to your emails. Depending on your attitude towards privacy this may be a large or small catch. The only way you can use Paribus is if they have access to your email receipts. Otherwise, Paribus will have no purchases to monitor for savings.

The company makes it very clear that their program will only open emails that contain purchase receipts. Paribus is not going through your other emails. Plus, the company has made it very clear that it has not and will not sell your data.

If the idea of giving Paribus access to your email account is still uncomfortable, then consider setting up a separate email account specifically for receipts. You can forward any of your receipts to that account to limit the number of emails that Paribus has access to.

Is Paribus safe?

Handing over your email information to anyone may seem a bit unsettling in today’s world. With seemingly constant security threats, it is okay to be wary. Luckily, Paribus stores your email data in an encrypted format. According to their privacy policy, Paribus regularly works with outside security professionals to create a multilevel security system that keeps your data safe.

Plus, Paribus was acquired by Capital One, which is generally a trustworthy brand.

Can you save money using Paribus?

Yes, you can save money through this service, but it is not a guarantee. Paribus will monitor your account for savings that you deserve. However, you may not be entitled to savings on every single purchase.

You should view Paribus as a service that will allow you to save extra money. It should not be the only way you plan to save. Look for the deals before you make a purchase and allow any Paribus savings to be icing on the cake.

Bottom Line

Paribus can help you to ensure you are getting the best value for your purchases. Although you will have to give the company access to your emails, it may be well worth it.

If you regularly shop or book hotel rooms online, then you might be missing out on extra savings. It is very possible that you are leaving money on the table with every purchase. If you want to ensure that you got the best possible deal on every purchase, then you need to consider adding Paribus to your line-up of money-saving websites.
